We’ve turned our clocks ahead. We’ve seen the last of the snow piles at the end of the driveway melt down to nothing. We’ve even started to think about our gardens and flowerbeds. And the vernal equinox has brought us hope for spring.
Everything seems new and possible when the days are lengthening by tiny, beautiful, light-filled increments. The sun has renewed its power to warm us, to nudge awake the flora and fauna, to light our way home at the end of the day. The sun has made a promise of beauty to come.
To honor the change in season, perhaps we’ll choose to do a little yoga – offer a sun salutation or two right there in that ray of light on the floor. Or maybe we’ll just break out the sunshiny hues … the oranges, yellows, and magentas. Whatever our preference for thanking the sun, for welcoming spring, one thing’s for sure: We are so very grateful.
